July 2003, Hot June became soggy July : This picture of the park at the junction of Sandy Lane and Compstall Road after a torrential downpour is quite mild compared to later ones in the collection. It shows the free swimming pool filling up nicely.

May 2004: April showers created a boating lake on the west side of Romiley park in addition to the usual Olympic swimming pool on the south side (nearer to the camera in this panoramic picture).

	August 2004: Rogue weather overflows River Rom yet again! Anyone wanting to enjoy the view from on one of the benches in Romiley's park needed good pair of waders; or even a rowing boat; on this particular summer Friday. Heavy rain had been falling continuously throughout the morning and well into the afternoon.    This flood was even more comprehensive than the one in April this year but the park was completely back to normal, apart from a little residual sogginess, by Saturday morning.
