Counting Out Time by Philip H. Turnercategory : CRIME & THRILLERS

Leonard Bronston, an average, law-abiding citizen, was running out of time. Alexander Montford, a successful professional criminal, was in much the same position. Montford, Eric 'Snake' Smith and another younger helper called Tod had emptied the wrong safe.
They now had a professional killer on their trail. Tod was already dead.
Bronston acquired Snake as a neighbour. He met Montford just before a bank robbery. A man heading for premature death through natural causes became an ally of two others, who were trying to avoid an unnatural termination.
The robbery presented useful opportunities to all three as they played out their destinies and came to terms with what fate had in store for them.
