Looking west from the BP petrol station, or from a point near the junction of Compstall Road with Sand Lane, there is rather more of the village to be seen in winter when the trees are bare.

On the last Friday of the month, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and the West Country were all locked solid in blizzards. In Romiley, we had a blue-sky day. On Monday, the snow arrived.
